Hermes II

from $77.00

Hermes had statues in gyms, as he was a patron of the gym and battle, and worshiped in the sanctuary of the Twelve Gods in Olympia. A statue of Hermes was on an altar alongside Apollo. Hermes moved quickly and freely between the worlds of the mortal and the divine, aided by his winged sandals, described as beautiful, golden, and immortal. His swiftness was an exalted art; he could take the roads with the wind speed.
